Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday introduced {that a} new world-class hockey stadium could be constructed at Rourkela in Sundargarh district as a part of preparations for the 2023 Hockey World Cup which might be hosted by the state. The proposed stadium could be the most important hockey stadium in India with a sitting capability of 20,000 individuals.
